Comfort Work: The Key to Consistent, Accurate Results
These stereo microscopes help you remain comfortable with eyepieces that reduce eyestrain, a universal LED stand that provides easy access to your sample, and a Greenough optical system that delivers excellent flatness. High color fidelity and antistatic materials and coatings make these microscopes suitable for routine or advanced life science applications.
Compact Stereo with High-Quality Optics
Greenough Optical System
The 10-degree angle of convergence in the Greenough optical system secures excellent image flatness with large depth of field. The careful selection of lens surface coatings and glass materials in the entire optical system makes it possible to observe and document specimens in their original, authentic colors. The V-shape optical path achieves a slim zoom body - suitable for integration into other equipment or standalone use.
Wide Zoom Ratio
The SZ61’s magnification range extends from 6.7x to 45x (using 10x eyepieces), with a wide zoom ratio of 6.7:1, enabling smooth, macro-to-micro zooming that speeds routine workflows. The SZ51 provides the magnification rage of 8x to 40x (using 10x eyepieces), with a wide zoom ratio of 5:1.
Viewing
The suitable inward angle allows just the right combination of high level flatness and depth of focus for 3D viewing. Even a specimen with significant depth can be brought into focus from top to bottom for faster inspection.
LED Illumination
The universal reflected/transmitted light LED illumination stand brings together all the advantages of LED technology. The flat, high-brightness LEDs allow successful integration of transmitted illumination into a very slim base, which in turn facilitates easy specimen access and manipulation.
Choice of High-Performance Bodies
The SZ61 and SZ51 zoom bodies provides 2 different magnification ranges, and each one is ergonomically designed with a 45-degree inclination tube as the standard model. For special applications where the zoom body has to be tilted of use with other equipment of mounting on a universal stand, the built-in models with 60-degree inclination tube are available. For documentation purpose, a trinocular model is available for the quick and easy attachment of digital cameras.

Choice of Suitable Contrast and Observation Method
SZX2-ILLTQ/SZX2-ILLTS
With a slim 41.5 mm design, that is approximately half the thickness of previous halogen transmitted light illumination bases, new LED transmitted light illumination bases have a lower height to enable a low eyepoint and easy access to base-mounted samples during observation and operation.
Cartridges for SZX2-ILLTQ/SZX2-ILLTS
New LED illumination base SZX2-ILLTQ four position turret (SZX2-ILLTS one position) enables the user to choose cartridges and to switch from brightfield (Standard/High/Low), oblique (Standard/High/Low), darkfield, polarized illumination and shutter with a simple turn. This makes the SZ61/51 a flexible microscope for various samples and observation tasks.
LED illuminator stand / SZ2-ILST
The LED stand features a thin design to keep sample positions low and to optimize operability. Simultaneous transmitted and reflected light are available on this stand. LED light offers both long lifetime and constant color temperature at any intensity.
Transmitted illumination attachment / SZ2-ILA
Used with the SZ2-ST stand, this cost-effective illumination stand provides bright, uniform illumination from low to high magnifications. Tiltable mirror provides direct and oblique illumination for low contrast specimen. Available LED light source (SZ2-CLS or BX3M-LEDT) provide necessary power for a variety of illumination needs.
Flexible light guide / SZ2-CLGSF
A single fiber optic guide is fixed at the back of the objective so as not to disturb microscope operation.
Dual interlock light guide / SZ2-CLGDI
Standard oblique semi-rigid fiber optic light guide. The light source position on the rear side of the stand saves desk space.
Six-point ring light guide / SZ2-CLGR
Used with SZ2-CLS illumination system, this ring light guide provides bright and uniform images.
Coaxial reflected light illuminator / SZ2-ILLC
It combines a polarizer and a 1/4λ plate, for easier viewing of specimens which are difficult to examine under oblique reflected light illumination.
Easily Capture and View Images with a Digital Camera and Heads-Up Display
The trinocular observation tube on the SZ61 stereoscope can be equipped with a digital camera. Easily share and display images with your colleagues using the wireless LAN-enabled EP50 camera. Combine this camera with our SZ stereo microscope to transform your lab into a digital one. The heads-up display enables easy viewing in a group setting. Everyone can see the observed specimen in real-time without having to take turns viewing through the oculars.
